My doctor is talking about maybe trying IUI and then if that doesn't work going to IVF. She never talked about costs. Does anyone have ballpark costs for these procedures? I would like to tell DH. If anyone has any idea it would be appreciated. Thanks, Jen

Without insurance coverage, IUI can cost anywhere from 300-1200 dollars. Without insurance, IVF costs between 7,000-12,500. That doesn't count meds or the additional procedure needed for an FET, if necessary. Of course, they have 'shared risk' plans at many clinics. Somewhere between 20,000-32,000 for four tries at IVF with a guarantee of a healthy baby at the end or a refund of your money.

At least those are the numbers here in VA.

Good Luck, Hon. IUIs are much less expensive and virtually painless. I've had 3. PM me if you have any other questions. Anytime. I hope you get your the first time around!

here in MN IVF base costs are $7800 - $12,000 (no insurance) not including meds, u/s's, bloodwork, or any additional procedures. this is just the retrieval cost, the transfer cost, and basically the fact that you set foot in their facility.

We drove to Indianna to a clinic there bc the base cost was $3500. Altogether, with the meds, u/s's, bloodwork, and additional procedures (cryopreservation of DH's sperm & the embies, assisted hatching, and some other stuff I can't remember) our cost was around $11,000.

The FET was much cheaper (same clinic in IN), $1800 base cost (thawing, transfer, assisted hatching) and meds were about $15 (insurance & walmart's $4 prescription plan) but the progesterone shots are $28/vial, and I get 5 shots per vial at first and then they will eventually cut the dose in half. I get to take the shots until 10 - 12w of pregnancy.

Not sure about IVF costs, but this is my experience with IUI:

I am paying $1200 this month for my IUI and that includes all the Dr. visits, ultrasounds, the IUI itself. Does not include clomid but my insurance covered that (I was surprised) and that was $9 for 5 pills. So all in all I am paying $1209 per IUI cycle. I hope this is the only month I have to do it, doing this 3-4 times will get expensive really quick. Luckily, since DH and I have been TTC for almost 2 years now, we have built up our savings quite nicely since we both work and make decent money, so luckily we can afford it.

Thank you ladies so much for your info, it is so helpful!

In Florida no insurance covers any infertility so it's time to build the savings account up

I hope you all get your asap!

We're paying for our IUI out of pocket - IUI is $124 and Sperm Washing is $100. Our insurance covers the meds - Femara & the Follistim injectables since we were approved for using them for Timed Intercourse as well. I need the meds to try naturally or with IUI. So less than $300. Good luck!!

My insurance has 10k of infertility... I'm in florida.

Maybe you could see if your employer (or your Dh's) has any other plans to choose from.. I know Rob's work has 3 plans you can chose....
