So I'm starting to think that this IVF thing is really do-able

My neighbor works in the medical field and mentioned that they have a "Medical Credit Card" that is interest free for up to 18 months

If I paid $5K out of my "IVF Fund", then I could finance another $6K, and it would only cost us $333 a MONTH !!! Not to mention that we could ALWAYS pay it off sooner

I'm going to bring this up to my doctor and make sure this office accepts this type of thing: btw, here's the website if anyone's interested!
http://carecredit.com/

Also, my neighbor said where she works offers a 30% discount if you pay cash up front (makes their life easier b/c they don't have to mess w/insurance or bill collectors)-so if my doctor would do that, we could save over $3,000!!!! Making the total cost of the IVF less than $8K!!! We can SOOOOOOOO do this!!!!

I just wanted to share my optimism with you all and hopefully help some of you pay for all these darn medical expenses we have to deal with

Did your RE include the cost of the drugs in the estimate that he gave you? Mine didn't. He quoted us 11K. That didn't include the $500 anesthesia fee we had to pay and the $3,000 for the IVF stim drugs.

I just wanted to warn you so that you didn't get the same surprise that I did!

Same thing happened to me.Hopefully your RE included all the costs.Mine said 6500.Extra 4000 for meds and 1000 for anesthesia. My insurance covered my meds so the total cost came out afofrdable. But make sure with your doctor.

Good luck.I hope this is it for you.

I also have a carecredit from dental work. I didnt even think about that working for other things. How about the IUI is it as much as the IVF?? I havent seen the RE yet and my OB dont do things like that. I was just wondering. About the cost of the IUI.

Menopur (avg 10 ampules) $550

Are they doing ICSI? If your DH has any sperm issues at all, I would recommend it. It might be extra though.
