Howdy,

Has anyone tried IFV after having a pulmonary embolism? I know blood thinners are administered throughout pregnancy, but were there any other risks/success?

A little about me: 32 years old, have PCOS am Insulin resiliant and want to proceed with IVF but doctor is wary due to previous PE. I was scheduled for an IUI, but to regulate cycles before starting hormones, they put me on birth control (had been off since 2000), well, the birth control gave me the PE. Nice!

Is anyone out there TTC after having a PE??? I feel very alone.

I have never had a PE but I would think as long as you are able to treat the underlying cause and keep an eye on your clotting levels throughout the process (including the entire pregnancy AND postpartum) I think it should be ok. Have you had your clotting factors checked??
