So in case my IUI gets changed to tomorrow, anyone have any good excuses I could use for why I suddenly have to be gone for 3 hours? (that long b/c I want to help DH transport the sample and all that). I am going to come across as a real flake!

I say...don't give a reason to those who don't need to know and if someone pushes (or for those who need to know) say that it is a personal issue that you had to take care of. Most people would be afraid to push for more info when you say that.

You're talking about work right? Just tell them you had a doc appt and they called to see if you could re-schedule to today because the doc has to go out of town tomorrow.

I'm the Queen of excuses!

I think just saying you have a doctors appointment that was rescheduled last minute via your doctor will work. If not, see below...

That or you can always use the explosive diarrhea excuse...lol. I had a boss tell me once that if you really need to get out of something to tell people that, because nobody wants you around with that mess happening.

Good luck!

I've used, "I have to go to an appointment (or doctor's appointment) with DH."
It has worked just fine because many women can relate and many men have their SO go with them.

I forgot about that one! I usually would say I had thrown up rather than fessing up to the diarrhea, but the girls I work with all tend to have 'gastric distress' and would totally buy that! I have an early morning appointment next week that I think that would work very well for because I'll only be a little late for work.
