Well I am having a Laproscopy done and ovarian drilling FRIDAY.. when I talked with my DR about the surgery.. I didnt expect that we could get in as fast as we did.. we scheduled Friday before last.. so it was really fast!!! i am really nervous about the Ovarian Drilling part... I was in such shock when we were talking about surgery...

So what does Ovarian Drilling really do?

Is it painful..?

has anyone every done it before??

So what does Ovarian Drilling really do? From what I've read, women with polycystic ovaries have a hard shell covering their ovary (this is what prevents the follies from releasing eggs, thus they convert to cysts...) By "zapping" little holes into the hard outer layer of the ovary, it relieves the pressure on the ovary and in some cases allows for eggs to be released...

Is it painful..? From what my doctor said, the actually "drilling" isn't painful, but there may be some discomfort at the laproscopic incisions...

has anyone every done it before?? Nope, but I plan on having it done next cycle if the Clomid/injectable cycle is a bust

Good luck!!

I have had the lap done, and a hysterscopy?sp? ,D&C and I am not sure if it was drilling but...he lazered my ovaries to pop my cyst. It was not bad at all..They give me some REALLY NICE!!!! sleepy juice in my iv I supose it was valum..Then I woke up and was thirsty from the tube in my throat..Came out as soon as I could walk they let me come home.. I was sore from the cut by my belly button but..I only had like 2 stiches and a lower cut. They were not as bad when I carried a pillow on them. when I walked . Then the next day I was fine still sore. kept the pillow handy but I took care of both my girls myself the next day..So all in all it was pretty quick and easy!! Hope this helps..Good Luck!! I'll be thinkin of ya!!
