So this month we will be using the HCG shot to release the egg. Will this prevent me from being able to accurately take a pregnancy test at the end of the cycle?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...I believe it takes 24-36 hours for each 1,000 units of the trigger shot to leave your system. So, you could test at 10DPO and get a BFP, but it might just be the trigger shot. A lot of girls keep testing until they get a BFN (meaning the shot is completely gone) so then if they get a BFP they know it is a real BFP.

I tested every day to watch the shot leave my system. At 8dpo it got really light, but never went negative...then it went dark again. It was fun but frustrating to play with HPT's during that time

It did make the time go by faster though till my beta

I had a +++ from the shot at 10 and even 11 days post trigger. It didn't go negative until 12 days post trigger.

Everyone's body is different in how quickly it metabolizes the HCG.

Good luck!

You can buy internet cheapies online - I bought 10 tests for $8 to do my HCG post-trigger testing - once I go through all of those, I'll be about 10 days past ER and will start using FRER...

For me, it is usually out of my system about 10 or 11 days after the shot. If you want to test until seeing a negative again, you may want to consider using an OPK-it will stay positive until the hcg disappears (someone gave me that tip and I thought it was great)...OPK's are fairly cheap and you can buy a pack of like 30 now....
