Hey girls!! Some of you might know me from the TTC#1 board other may know me from other boards. My name is Laci (21), DH is Michael (22). We've been ttc#1 since Jan 07' with a depo shot in aug 07'. Today was my first appointment with the infertility specialist. After two LONG years we finally have a game plan for the next year. It is clomid 50mg for 4 months then 2 months off. We repeat that 3 times and then if I'm not PG we will do an HSG and S/A to me that seems like a long time to wait to get one done but I've never been through this whole process before so is that normal? Right now I'm waiting for AF to show then next cycle I start 50mg of Clomid on CD5-10 then BD every other day starting at cd8 and taking folic acid 1mg everyday. So wish me luck and I can't wait to get to know all of you!!

I'm glad you found us, and hope you find lots of support here. These ladies have definitely helped me stay sane while TTC

Hey Laci! Glad you found your way over here. I have seen you around on other boards... I'm Kari and we are TTC #1 with PCOS and mild endo.

My DR wouldn't help us until AFTER we got DH's SA done and I also had my HSG before starting meds too. I know all clinics do things differently but if it were me I wouldn't want to go through all that clomid and trying at home if I couldn't get PG because of a blocked tube or b/c DH's sperm was bad. I would consider bringing this up to your DR and if you guys want it I would do those tests first so you know more what you are dealing with.

Good luck and jump right in... everyone is really nice around here!!!

Kari- thats what confused me because he said it was possible for me to have PCOS since I'm irregular and never O at the same time each month I was thinking he would do the testing first but he said lets try the clomid for a year!! WHAT!!! then do the HSG and S/A. But I think after the first six months and I'm not pg I'm going to tell him I want both of those done! He even said that we would know why I'm not getting pg after a year on clomid!! umm hello wouldn't it make more sense to do the tests first then figure out what meds to use?!?!?

I don't think it would hurt to at least do some bloodwork if you haven't done that yet. Have you even checked your CD21 b/w for your progestrone check? That would at least tell you if you're ovulating or not. There are also more tests they can do (b/w and u/s) to check for PCOS. I think you're right... for sure after 6 months, if not SOONER, I would be asking for more tests to figure out what's going on with your body.

KUP on what's going on and I hope you get some answers soon!
