So the last time that I posted a message I was freaking out about why doctor would schedule an appointment and if he would think differently of me since the first 50mg did not work.

He has given me 100mg of Clomid and I have to go back on the 12th day for an ultrasound. Is that normal?

I guess I'm asking you this because the doctor who I was seeing before my miscarriage in 2007 never did any of this. She was also unethical and told me over the phone my baby's due date and then preceded to tell me that it didn't matter because I was going to lose it anyway. Go figure....I guess that's why I have a new doctor.

Anyhow, now that I'm back from my rant....is it normal to have an ultrasound and are they just testing for ovulation?

So confused.....

OMG-I can't believe your old doctor said that to you-and ON THE PHONE! That's unconscionable...I'm so sorry you were treated that way!

Monitoring follicular growth through u/s is very normal. I no longer use OPK's because my RE is always doing u/s on me to see if I have anything mature. Sounds like this doc is more on top of things....

Wow, I'm glad you have a new doctor!

Yes, u/s monitoring is totally normal and definitely helpful in determining whether the meds are working they way you need them to. Good luck, and I hope this cycle is "the one"!

Yes I too was very upset with my old doctor and the way that they treated me.

Thank you for the advice. I needed some reassurance that what my new doctor was doing was accurate and correct!!!! Let's all pray that this is the one!!

LOL.... hehehe. I've always wanted to use that one!

Anyway, to what the other girls have said. Very normal for u/s monitoring and way less stressful than trying to interpret all those OPK sticks all the time! Good luck!
