I ordered a refill for my 900 unit Follistim cartridge, pretty much the day it arrived, my RE dropped my dosage WAY down, so now I have about 750 units left in my cartridge in the fridge (this stuff is about $1 per unit).

What can I do with it now? How long will it keep in the fridge? My clinic doesn't have a donation program for opened meds, so now I'm kind of at a loss of what to do. I sure don't want to throw away $750 worth of meds

I've been getting my meds from folks in my area who are in the same situation as you, some donated, some purchased... maybe you know of someone who is going through this and can use the meds right away? I think they say that open meds keep for 30 days in the frig, so ... I completely understand not wanting it to go to waste! UG. That stinks. I'm sure there's someone in your area who can use them!

Can I buy it from you? (kidding...kind of...i might be going on Follistim if DH's DNA SA comes back all clear...

I don't know how you'd get it to me, though, or if shipping something like that is even legal. EEK.

I was really bothered by this when it happened to me. I had five Gonal F pens left over that all had about 182 units in each. Because my insurance paid for the pens, when I ran out in one and didn't have enough for a full dose, I started a new pen rather than giving myself two injections. This was even what my RE told me to do. I figured I could just give them back to the pharmacy for donation. But, then I found out, there was nowhere to donate the medicine too and so it all went bad.

I hope you find somewhere to donate it to!

How frustrating. I don't think there are many legal options on things you can do (if there are I don't know about).

I wish I had some ideas because it is such a shame for that much money to go to waste.
