It's funny how MA cycles don't give you too much time to be down; at least I've found that to be true.

We are back in the saddle again!

I was emailing w/my nurse and she told me to call the office tomorrow and schedule a baseline u/s. I said we wanted to do Follistim again this cycle plus we want to do an IUI, as well.

I am also going to talk to my RE about maybe being more aggressive w/the follistim dosage. Any thoughts on this? Last cycle, I did 100 units, 100 units, 75, 75, 75, 75.

I had 1 mature follie at 18 mm and then one at 13 mm and two at 12. The others were all under 9.

I triggered 36 hrs after that u/s.

I would really love to have 3-4 MATURE EGGS before I trigger. Does increasing the dosage sound reasonable?

Yahoo for a new plan! I always thought the same thing...I always broke down when AF showed, but then the next day I had to start thinking that I was at the beginning of a new cycle, and that really helped.

I think a little bit of an increase sounds reasonable to me, but of course I'm no expert

when i did an iui with follistim my dose was 100 units and I ended up with 5 mature follies and several smaller ones. i think upping your dose would help. GL!

I will talk to my RE about it.

One thing that concerns me is I NEVER seem to have a lot of follies. I was on a very high dose of Clomid, 150 mg, and even then I only had ONE follie.

I was honestly expecting more with the Follistim, or at least more mature ones.

Is there a reason I would not respond well to stimming?

I O regularly every month on my own.

I don't know the answers to your questions. I am still pretty new to all this. I am glad you are feeling a little better and I hope your RE goes along with the new game plan.

Sometimes MA is all a game of trial and error. Maybe you need to consider a different kind of injectable??? Talk with your RE about your other options. If he's not willing to up your dose, maybe he'll be willing to try a whole new drug and see how your body responds.

Good luck! I hope that whatever you and your RE come up with it results in a wonderful BFP to start off the new year!

A lot of it has to do with your ovarian reserve. When I was in testing, I did a clomid challenge test where I took a high dose of clomid to see how well I would respond. Well, I should have made 10-20 eggs and I only had 4 I think. This is how I was diagnosed with poor ovarian reserve. Anyway, my dose of follistim was always like 300 or something crazy high b/c I was such a poor responder. Actually my clinic said I was taking the highest dose they could prescribe. I forget what it was exactly. See if they will up your dose and hopefully that will help, good luck!
