Has anyone tried Femara? Has it worked? Any side affects or advise?

I have been on Clomid, 50 MG the first cycle and my biggest follicle was 13mm, so this last cycle I was on 100MG Clomid and I didn't have any good follicles, so we are going to try Femara and if that doesn't work it is on to the specialist and injectables.

I took Femara and had an IUI - it worked the second time. I was on 2.5mg for cycle days 3-7. I ovulate on my own, I was just prescribed it because we were doing the IUI and it can help with better egg quality.

The only side effect I noticed was that I was really tired the first couple of days taking it but that was it.

I am glad to hear it has worked for some. This is my last stop before a specialist and injectables.

I conceived this baby on my FIRST cycle of Femara (5 mg CD 3-7). No SE's at all! (I did several rounds of Clomid and didn't respond to it.) Good luck!

I won't be of much help but, if next cycle isn't cancelled. We will be doing 5mg of Femara days 3-7. And Follistim 7-12. 50mg of clomid worked great as in I had mult folliciles but I never got preg. I was so done with clomid.

Glad someone asked about Femara. I hadn't heard of it either, until my Dr suggested it as an alternative to Clomid. I haven't tried any MA yet, but I'm not ovulating regularly, even though my hormone levels are all within range. Am considering trying Femara.

Good luck, Julie.

I don't know Femara has any s/e, sorry I couldn't be any help. I'm getting ready to take it this cycle for the first time! I start taking it on Friday, I'm taking 2.5mg. I'm praying that it works!

I took Femara this cycle and had no s/e. I like taking Femara much better than Clomid because I had the worst s/e while taking Clomid.

I took Clomid at the highest dose and got nothing, except a lot of nausea and headaches. I've just finished my first go at Femara and am in my 2ww to see. I had a good sized follie on my CD 16 so we triggered that night. If I don't end up pregnant this cycle, we are definitely doing Femara again. I think the fact that I had no side effects from it allowed me to kind of "forget" I was taking something and be more relaxed about the entire thing. Good luck!
