My husband and I attended our niece and nephew's baptisms on Saturday. At the after party, we spent most of the time holding our 5 month old nephew, passing him back and forth. Our friend Amy who has 5 year old twins, came over to talk to us. She asked us if we were still trying. She was encouraging, explained how she had struggled for 7 years to get her girls. She said that she could imagine how hard it was for me to have lived quietly through my SIL's pregnancy while we were suffering from infertility. She encouraged us to go on with getting medical assitance.

When we got home, my DH immediately looked at me and said very seriously, "We need a baby in our home by this time next year. What can we do to make this happen?" It's very strange to see how much he's changed in the last 2 years. He went from being unsure of starting a family, to completely desperate for a child.

So yesterday I finally called and got the ball rolling. I don't know why I was piddling around for so long anyway. I talk big about what I want to do, but I never do anything. I think I just thought a "miracle" would happen, and we wouldn't need the help. I mean... we got pregnant before. My doc is going to try to get me in for an HSG next week, and she's sending a requisition in the mail for DH to get an SA.

I'm suddenly really excited about it all. I know there's no magic bullet to motherhood, but suddenly it feels almost in reach.

That's where we're at with the adoption. We were SO SURE that MA would bring us our baby, but after about 2 years off TTC with MA, we feel like adoption is OUR answer! DH said almost the exact same thing as your DH after we spent Thanksgiving with his family. He came home and said "I want a baby by next Thanksgiving-let's adopt"

I wish you the best and please KUP on your journey

OOh, this is so exciting! I remember feeling the same way when we started seeing our RE...that at least we would know we were doing everything possible to make this happen. I'm so glad that DH came around, and I hope that you get that BFP very soon!

That is awesome news. For us DH was always two steps behind on what we wanted in terms of kids. So when it was time for fertility treatments, he agreed but didn't think we needed it. But here we are 5 years post miscarriage and still no babies. He is finally caught up to me. I know that once there was a plan of action and a way to know we were getting somewhere, I remember how excited I was about it all.

Great news!!! Sometimes, it just takes a little baby fever to settle in and then... boom... they are smitten.

It's so great to have a decision like this made. We are happy withour decision and I certainly hope and pray by next Christmas, you will have a baby in your arms and heart!!! Keep us posted of your protocol and progress, whatever you all decide to do next.

I am so excited for you Alice! I know it was very hard for me to move to M/A. I think that is why I waited so long to finally see an RE. I am so glad to see you are taking this big step and hopefully you guys will have a baby on the way soon.

KUP on how things go!
