I talked to my nurse and unfortunately, my RE wants us to wait a cycle before TTC w/MA again. She said that it was absolutely fine for us to try on our own, but that she we cannot do another Follistim cycle until I get my next period.

Here's what I am upset about. I TRULY believe it was the laparoscopy that did the trick. It is TOO coincidental for me that I got pg the month after a lap with DD, and then again this time, the month after a lap. I think it "cleans me out" or something.

So my question is---what is our window of opportunity after a lap? I've heard 6-12 months. Does that sound right? I am just praying that we can conceive again quickly.

I think if that is truely what jumpstarted you then one month won't hurt.

I agree. Plus, if the laparascopy made the difference maybe you will be able to conceive on your own this cycle. I would just give it your best shot. If it doesn't work out you can get started pretty quickly and I would think that since you just did the laparascopy you will still have a good chance at getting pregnant.

HUGS! I also don't think one month without MA will hurt, but Patty is right, no reason to not try on your own!

Was the lap for endo? I've had several over the years and it has usually alleviated the endo symptoms for a good 6 months or so. It think you're fine with the one month break. It really is the best where stims are concerned anyway, you have to give your body a chance to quiet down and reset itself otherwise it would just be a wasted medical cycle. Definitely try on your own though, you never know... it may just take!

No, not really. In 2001, I had a lap. because my periods were really heavy and I had sharp, painful cramps with them. My gyn. suspected endo but when the lap was performed, nothing was found. I got pg unexpectedly the next cycle. They now attribute my cramps to my tipped uterus; funny enough, though, after DD was born, my periods became much lighter, shorter and the cramping not as painful.

This time around the lap. was done b/c we thought I had tubal blockage. Again, surprise surprise, everything looked clear and normal! And then a the next month.

My RE DID find one small piece of endo this time, but he said it was sooo minor, that he couldn't say it was causing our infertility; he said he had to put us in the "unexplained" category.

I was told that I'd have extra-good chances at conceiving "for several" months after my lap, so I think you'll be fine! I'd be impatient, too, but maybe you won't need that Follistim this time? Besides, I don't have any to send you this time
