Hey ladies, I haven't been around much since our IUI last year, but I was curious about a few things...

I want another baby, like yesterday, but I am EBF with no plan to stop. I was curious if anyone has done Clomid while breastfeeding? I am planning on asking my doctor about it in January. My period did show up at 2 months pp and I am in the middle of my 2nd cycle (first was 43 days long)....I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this? I would prefer not to do an IUI and after Jan/Feb we'll stop trying until September (We don't want a winter baby for SEVERAL reasons)...so Jan is the only real shot I Think we'll have

any insight, or references would be so appreciated!! I hope you all get something very special for the Holidays this year

I've read that clomid can affect milk supply.

When TTC#2, they wouldn't let me start Clomid until I stopped EBF. Not sure exactly why, though

I think I remember being told you couldn't use Clomid while BF. Not sure though.

Welcome back to the board! Seems like just yesterday that you got your BFP!

I don't have experience with this issue, but according to safefetus.com, Clomid shouldn't be taken while BF. Here's the link:

You can post it on SIRM to get an RE to respond and it's free!

I think I've also heard it's not good. It shuts down your estrogen levels in the initial phases, and this can impact the milk supply drastically. It may also be one of those levels of drugs that gets passed through the milk, and this is definitely not something you want baby girl getting Love the photo. She's a doll!

I asked my RE about fertility interventions during breastfeeding (curious because my SIL BFs until almost 3) and he said that in theory, ovulation induction by injectibles is okay, but Clomid specifically didn't come up because that's not what we were doing that cycle.
