We had our IVF class today and we were told that we need to pick a pharmacy. We received 4 brochures of the pharmacies they normally work with (we could also chose a different pharmacy if we wanted). How did you go about choosing a pharmacy?

And, has anyone ever heard of these pharmacies....
Freedom Fertility Pharmacy
Village Fertiltiy Pharmacy
The Apothecary Shops
Metro Drugs

Also, about the meds, we have to choose which meds we wanted to do between Bravelle, Follistim, and Gonal F. If you were given the choice, which did you choose and why? TIA!

I did IUI, but the meds are often the same, and I did Menopur and Bravelle because that is what my doctor recommended. I ended up hyperstimulated but happily pregnant

We used IVP Care Pharmacy, and they were absolutely wonderful. They are a specialty pharmacy affiliated with Walgreens, and their service was outstanding. Of the ones you mentioned, the only one I have heard of is Freedom Fertility Pharmacy.

We didn't have a choice of drugs...my doc recommended a Menopur/Follistim combination, and that is what we used.

My RE gave me a choice of meds, too (Menopur, Follistim or Gonal-F) and (Ganerelix or Cetrotide). Honestly, my choice was made 100% by cost. I shopped around at 3 or 4 pharmacies that my RE recommended (one was Freedom, one was a local company, one was IVP, and one other I can't remember). Of them all, Freedom was cheapest for Gonal-F and Cetrotide and IVP was cheapest for Follistim and Ganerelix. At that point, it came down to total cost, and Freedom (with the meds I chose) was cheapest. I already have my meds and they have been excellent to talk with on the phone the three times I've spoken to them now. They even called to make sure I got my meds and to see if I had any questions!

We used Freedom a few years ago and I have no complaints about them. This time we're either going to use Freedom or Schrafts (affiliated with Walgreens).
