Hey ladies,

Just checking in with you all to see how things are going. Where you are at and how you are feeling!

AFM we are completely the majority of our paperwork this weekend. We have one that needs to be nortarized and I still need to go in for my physical. Then we can get it all mailed in and wait for our education classes on April 15-16. After that our home study officially starts!

I know the banks around here do and so do most justices of the peace offices.

I know the WellsFargo here has one. I had to sign a bunch of paperwork for my friend's adoption so we just went there since it was closer than the court house.

I think all banks have a notary.

I'm excited for you, Kari!

After MUCH soul searching, we have decided to adopt....INTERNATIONALLY. We have chosen Ethiopia as our country. We had our first meeting with our homestudy worker last week and I'm just working on gathering the OODLES of paperwork needed.

We have sent in our pre-app with our agency, and once that's approved, we will get to work on our official application. That requires a lot of duplicate paperwork as our homestudy, so we will kinda do both at the same time.

We are requesting a BABY GIRL under 12 months old.

I have a client who adopted a girl from Ethiopia. She's gorgeous. My client is so happy that she chose to adopt from Ethiopia. Good luck to everyone on your paperwork, physicals, home studies, etc.

We just went to the bank Friday to get another cashier's check for the agency.....so our total spent since January 5th is $7K so far.....but I'm happy to say that we haven't had to ask anyone for help YET and we've saved it all our selves.

I'm still waiting on the FBI paperwork (which should be here in early April, so I'm told!) other than that....we're just waiting.....and waiting......and.........waiting

This is the country we are kind of looking at (although it will be a long time before we can move forward)

we are also thinking of adopting from Taiwan. That is..if any of these countries are still open we move forward.

It will be exciting to follow you through your adoption journey!!

Good luck ladies! I cant wait until each of you have your babies safe at home, tucked into their cribs

Well, DH and I talked about it last night (we may have the opportunity for a private, interstate, adoption) but I'm not sure we can afford it right now.

I'm sorry that the financial aspect is getting in the way of your adoption stuff Augie. Is there a family member that could help out?

No one on my side...I'm sure his parents could, but we just paid them back last week from where they helped with the wedding.

Well, little Miss Ginny will be 5 weeks old on Wednesday, and we are just waiting for the waiting period to be up so that we can finalize! Birthmother's 30 days is up, so she can't contest her termination at this point, but it took the birthfather FOREVER to sign his TPR (he's in Iraq), so we have 17 days left of his 30 day period. After that we will have our court date and everything should be finalized! It's so freaking exciting!
