a week from today i have my appointment for my operative hysteroscopy. i'm feeling nervous already.

just to refresh your memories... in july i was supposed to have a normal hysteroscopy (no anesthesia). they gave me a (painful!) shot in the bum and then sent me on my way to have the procedure done. i wasn't really nervous because everything i had read online said it was a walk in the park bt for me it ended up being anything but!!! it was very, very painful and in the end they were unable to get the endoscope past my cervix. they wrote on my chart that i have cervical stenosis and recommended that i have an operative hysteroscopy (hence my appt. for next week).

has anyone had an operative hysteroscopy? how did it go?

oh sweetie ... I'm sorry you had to go through it the first time and now the second. I unfortunately know nothing about it ... will keep you in my thoughts that this time is easier, even if it more invasive.

Yes, they did it during my septum surgery 2 weeks ago. I was also a nervous wreck, but looking back it was not bad. I had no discomfort afterward as far as the hysteroscopy goes. Let me know if you have any questions, im more than happy to answer them.

I had a hysteroscopy in April at the same time as my lap surgery. I had absolutely no pain afterwards. My only "pain" was a little soreness in my belly from the incisions from the lap. I think the hysteroscopy is done vaginally, so you should be perfectly fine. No need for nerves!! Good luck Amy!
