I swear sometimes when your down, things just keep kicking you down.

Mike went for a SA at my RE's office( his previous 2 were done at a different lab). His first 2 SA i guess came out normal although i never saw the report. I guess the count was fine but some other level was off( cant remember what). They said they told him to keep trying or have some type of procedure done. So we decided to just keep trying. Well he went friday for the SA at my RE's office and i got a letter in the mail today saying that the results came back Abnormal and he needs an additional one done. There were a ton of lab values that i didnt understand. I am FREAKING out that there is going to be something wrong that we cant fix. I called the docs office and left a message asking someone to call me to explain what was wrong( i would think they should have done this to start with).
To make matters worse, i find out at work today that my company might be switching insurance carriers and that i would no longer be able to see my current RE. I know finding a new one prolly wont be a problem, but we are working closley to hopefully do testing regarding my early losses, and i dont want to have to start back at square 1 with a new person. I am still waiting to hear back from the insurance company, its almost been 2 months. Ive called and yelled and called and yelled and havent really gotten anywhere.

I am so scared of what might come next. Thanks for letting me vent ladies!!

I'm so sorry Holly... I wish I had some answers for you so that you could put your mind at ease.

I'm surprised that your RE office didn't call personally and explain the findings, that would bug me. I hope when you do get a call to explain things that it's something minor and won't affect your TTC efforts too much.

As far as having to switch RE's... that would definitely stink but hopefully your current RE would be kind enough to send your new DR all of his stuff so that you can pick up where you left off.

I'm sorry things aren't going so smoothly right now and I certainly hope that things turn around very soon!

I'm so sorry Holly. It certainly does seem like lots of things pile on you at once, doesn't it? When DH had his SA done at my RE's office, his morphology was pretty low (3% normal) and I worried myself crazy for weeks. We took the report to a Urologist and he basically laughed at us and said not to worry at all because the other numbers were so high. My RE told us that human sperm are very abnormal and the person in his office who analyzes the sperm is very critical and we shouldn't worry. Of course I'm not the best example of how things work out in the end, but just letting you know that one bad SA isn't necessarily the end of the world. Try to find out these three things:

total count
motility
morphology

When you get these numbers, the ladies here can help you analyze them. There are also several web sites that list normal ranges. Hopefully your DH is just borderline.

Good luck with your insurance, I hope the switch over is painless. I also hope you feel better real soon!

Big, huge, Holly! I hope you find answers soon about your DH's SA... shame on your RE's office for not calling to explain the results. My fingers are crossed that everything is ok. I hope your transition to a new RE is an easy one... I'm sure your current RE would send over your files and eliminate the need to start from scratch. GL sweetie. Thinking of you.

oh holly! i'm sorry to hear this...

as for the SA ditto what lindsey said. after dh's first SA the lab gave me the results with another sheet with the WHO (world health organization) ranges for the norms. OF COURSE i looked and it really worried me because quite a few of dh's values didn't fall within the range. i fretted over it until we were finally able to get in to see my OB/GYN and she shrugged it off and said that we should have no problem getting pregnant with his swimmers. our RE said the same exact thing. so don't stress yet.

sending you a big italian hug!

Hi Girls,
I talked to the nurse at the doctors office today and she kind of explained what was up. I guess DH "missed part of the cup" when giving the sample and so they felt they didnt have an accurate sample. If that is true im not sure, cause DH said that he did "have that much" to put in the cup so who knows.
Anyway she said his count was 44 million( his previous one was 60 million), she said they like it above 20. His Motility is 69% and they want it above 50. The morph is whats off. His is only 3% and they like it greater than 5%. She said there wasnt much that can be done. Do you guys know of anything??? He wil be going back at some point for a repeat one and ill drag him there if i have to( DH doesnt like doing this haha).
Thanks for all the kind words ladies. iI really appriciate you all being there for me

Well, I certainly hope that his next SA shows better results!

Maybe the ladies over at the MFI board can give you even more suggestions on top of what Jessie already said.

Good luck hun!
