This is my first cycle on clomid. My parents did NOT want me to start it because of the possibility of multiple births. DH did NOT want me to start it because the tests from him and myself shows that nothing is wrong with us and we are not infertile. I decided to go through with it. Today is CD 12 and I saw my fertility dr. this morning. I have a follicle that is pretty big and my nurse wants me to inject myself with Ovidrel to force me to O and insert progesterone at the end of the week. I figured out how much this cycle costed me....$554. DH does not want to contribute for the next cycle.
I am soo angry because I can not afford this amount every month. He thinks I am rushing making a baby.

Ugghhhh!!!

I'm not sure what to say-- I really hope this cycle works for you and you won't have to worry any further about all of this!

I will say though that you need to be sure that you and your DH are on the same page when it comes to TTC w/MA. You'll need each other to lean on the further down the road you go.

Is it an option for you to take a month or two off in between Clomid cycles since they are costing so much?

I agree 100%. There are risks associated with any fertility drugs, including Clomid, and you will need DH's support. If DH resents the pregnancy or the baby because he is not ready, it could be a huge problem in your marriage. Good luck!

I definitely agree with the other ladies...you will both need to lean on each other. Is it only the cost that makes your DH nervous? Is there something else that is making him want to wait? TTCMA is tough enough when you are on the same page, so you may want to dig a little deeper about his feelings. And remember, this is hard for him too, so even if you feel like punching him, be compassionate. I know it's hard.

I definitely agree that you and DH have to be on the same page. TTC is stressful enough without the additional burden of worrying about treatments, money, etc.

Wishing you all the best

Is that jus med's or appts as well? My med's (same as you femera instead of clomid though and its more expensive) was 282 at target. Appts are another story since we have hsa.
Talk to dh though! I process emotionally and dh looks at money. We both would like another one and it's just been hard all around... I'm on my phone but please feel free to pm if you want to talk!! I am in the same boat

In my experience, it seems to take men a lot longer to come around to any assistance in getting pregnant. Something to do with their machismo or something. I had to have a nice long talk with my DH about Clomid, because he was scared I'd turn into a freakishly irritable B. We figured out that we really didn't care about the method of conceiving anymore, because the end result was the same. It just took him a little longer to understand that yes, there was something we could do to help, and "just letting nature do it" didn't always work. We went through the same thing with IUI, and I would imagine we'll go through the same with anything else as well.

Good luck; hope that you guys can find a good common ground.

My dr. appointment's, ultrasounds costs $425. Clomid costs $19. Ovidrel and the progesterone costs $110. Insurance does not cover "infertility" even though I am not. Thanks for the support!
