Q: How many infertility patients does it take to screw in a light bulb?

------------

Wait for it...

------------

A: Screw in a light bulb…hmm do you think that would work?

We would need a pretty big lightbulb for us to fit in...

That is great though...total mentality of TTCMA...I swear we did and will in the future try about anything and everything! haha

Thanks for sharing!

ah, I see now, a little. Perhaps it's just dry humor that I missed the joke of it...

Celena, I think the "joke" lies more in the fact that fertile people don't understand the struggle infertile women face. To a fertile woman, getting pregnant is as simple as "screwing in a light bulb"

It makes me think of how many of us post remedies, things we've tried, things we avoid....

...to be so simple "Oh, screwing a lightbulb! haven't tried that yet!!"

haha

****, I wish it were THAT simple! See I didn't get that from the joke, seemed a teensy offensive being that everyone is trying so hard and doing so much to get pg. But that goes back to the raw emotions that when in a "normal" state whatever that might be it could possibly made me laugh.

Infertility SUCKS!

I'm sorry you were offended. That certainly wasn't my intent. I certainly understand the "trying so hard" thing. I've had four losses only to get hit with infertility after my last loss. I started my journey four years ago and have yet to even make it to the second trimester.

I think Lindsey grasped my intent of this thread perfectly. There have been many times when we've all grasped at straws for things that *might* just maybe work. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. It's the mentality of scrutinizing everything for that "magically cure" that the joke is grabbing at.

I tell people I've tried everything but swinging a dead chicken over my head...and if that would get me pregnant - I'd swing that deceaced fowl with all my heart!!!

ok see that I totally get right off the bat!

Augie, I know you didn't mean to offend... Don't apologize for making a funny, it's not like it was at anyone's expense. I just didn't get it, just missed the humor in it.

Refer to disclaimer in my siggy... need to add the "lack of humor" to it as well.

And yes Brandi definitely made it clearer.

Celena, I have been in your situation more times than I like to admit, so I know that "painful, raw emotion" that you are being faced with. I'm glad you're being honest with yourself and with others, and not just plastering on a happy face The sooner you allow yourself to FEEL the pain, the sooner you can begin to HEAL....
