I have clear blue digital tests. When I took the test strip out I saw two lines. One very light next to a darker "control" looking line. What's the deal? It was just a circle which is neg so I'm not getting excited yet. I don't know whats up with when I o but I know we plan to do the trigger shot on Thursday. I'm just curious bc I don't usually o til late in my cycle... Then again who knows! Last cycle I was surprised to see mature follies but no o signs at all on cd 14 u/s.

You will always get 2 lines on an OPK.
The way you know you got your surge is when the two lines are the same color or the 2nd line is darker than the control line.
Good luck, sweets!

I use the clear blue digital too and you will be able to see the difference once you get a positive....the two lines will be almost the same dark blue. I test with those at least twice a day.....yesterday I got a negative in the morning and then got two positives later in the day.

Arg! Ok so how often should I take it? I mean indh's eyes he said why not just dtd every day morning and night? Idk the real answer but know there us a real good reason for opk plus I want to make sure all works!! So the "test" line was about 25% the color of the control so no surge. Does color usually indicate how close you are to o time? (total newbie - to this as we gave always done ntnp but levels and stuff are so screwy we are doing meds)

Well I can only speak for myself, but for me I barely have any color on an OPK until about 3 or 4 days before the LH surge and then it's usually light up til I get the positive.
The reason I test several times a day is just a matter of preference.....2 cycles ago I got a negative OPK on day 14 in the morning....called and scheduled my US for day 15 because thats what my RE does if you don't get a + by day 14.....when I went in for my CD15 U/S the follicles weren't there, so I either didn't have any that cycle or I already O'd and missed it. So this past cycle, I pre-scheduled my U/S for CD14 so that I could see if I had any follicles without waiting for the positive OPK. I tested in the morning and it was negative, went for the ultrasound and saw 3 follicles, came home and tested again and the OPK was positive.
So I just don't take any chances....when I'm at CD13 I just start testing 2 or 3 times a day. I always make sure we BD every other day up til when I get a positive and then every day for a few days.
You don't want to over-do the BDing though....you want to make sure that his swimmers are well replenished!!
Good luck....
