Has anybody tried the First Response Fertility Test? Anybody know how accurate it is?

I've looked everywhere online to try and find the accuracy but the only place that says anything is, of course, on their website.

I used it this cycle (finnally - I've had it since Oct when it came in a HPT box). I did the test on CD 3, and had bloodwork on CD 4. The test showed both lines the same color. I got a generic call from a nurse (??) that said my lab results were normal from that day. I'm still waiting to go to the OB on the 13th to find out the actual results besides just "normal." Either way, I suppose for me, it was fairly accurate. I mean, the same color just says consult your doctor. I imagine when I talk to my doctor, that the results will be "borderline" - but "normal."

Thanks. I took one two cycles ago (same as you got it with HPT's and get forgetting to use it). I couldn't tell if both lines were exactly the same color but they were really close. I guess I'll talk to my doc about it on Feb. 2nd.

That's about what mine looked like. I'm thinking mine my be right because of all the stupid hormones I've had to be on in my life for my endometriosis.

I've taken one (same thing as you guys - came with a box of HPTs). I took it on this cycle and my result was normal.

I didn't do a blood test on this cycle, and in fact I haven't in about 3 years (while TTC #1). My result then was normal too.

So it was about what I suspected. High FSH isn't really my problem anyway.

I asked my RE once about them. His response was "Unless it's an HPT or OPK, I wouldn't trust it. There are many other factors in infertility that peeing on a stick can't tell us." Which is true. DH and I have a major infertility problem (on a chromosomal level) on top of the fact I've got PCOS and a thyroid problem. My FSH has always been "normal" for day 1-3. I seem to produce a lot of follicles, they just grow slowly.

I guess my opinion on them is I don't care for them and wouldn't take stock in one. Granted if I got one in a box of HPTs yeah I'd be curious and use it, but use it with a grain of salt. I guess I don't like how it's marketed.

I took one in July and the lines were *almost* the same color, and I completely freaked out. Lo and behold, I got pg in August (and November, but lost them both, which is another story....), so I wouldn't really worry unless your doctor tells you there's an issue.

I got another free one with my HPTs and threw it out.

ITA. I think there's too much of a risk that women will see it as a pass/fail on their own fertility, which is a shame. Do women really know so little about their own bodies and infertility in general? Particularly the role your mate can play in it (among sooo many other causes).

My RE doesn't like them... a CD 3 FSH blood draw is much more accurate.

I have one, but never remember to do it. I already had the cd3 blood draw anyway...so I'm not sure it would tell me anything?

I was looking over my results and my levels were elevated but "not enough for concern" 2 years ago. I haven't had it checked since then.
