and why would you want to do that? i dont understand why it would be a good idea to use ovulation tests to see if still in you? i took a trigger week and a 1/2 ago and just stopped using opk, as they were always coming out positive; plus, i was told not to even consider taking a pregnancy test until my period, at teh very least, as the hcg wil make the pregnancy test come out positive whether it is or not; oh, sorry, i think i just answered my own question - i guess you keep testing and when it is out of your system it is ok to take a preg test?

No- testing out a trigger is by using pregnancy tests. Some ladies do it to see the second line on the pregnancy test fade and then wait and hope that the line comes back, meaning that it would be from a real pregnancy and not from the shot.

The trigger is HCG, which is the same hormone your body makes after you've become pregnant, so while the HCG is still in your system, you will continue to get a positive pregnancy test, fading a little each day, until it's out. When the test is negative, the trigger is gone.

I always tested the trigger out using cheapie HPTs from the internet. Then once it was negative, I knew that any BFP after that was the real deal.

Good luck!

Yep the other ladies are right.

I think I'm going to try to have the will power to not test out the trigger.
But we see how I'm feeling at that point.

need alittle more clarification - does the pregnancy test actually turn negative and the 2nd line actually totally disappears? or, does the 2nd line just get lighter? i am asking these questions to anyone that has been pregnant and tested out the shot; bc mine have absolutely no 2nd line whatsoever and i am 11 dpo

I know you are going to hate this, but it depends on the woman. Some women take longer to metabolize the HCG from the shot, so they never get a negative pregnancy test...the line gets lighter as the shot leaves, then starts getting darker as the HCG from the pregnancy increases. I'd say most women, though, get a negative pregnancy test with NO second line after the shot leaves, then they get a positive result later when the pregnancy is creating HCG.

For this cycle I tested 8DPO and it was super faint I had to take the test apart ($1 test) 9DPO it was stark white, and then 10DPO it was faint. I thought maybe something was up but that night I got a "Pregnant" on a digital test.
