i had my shot on 2/12 and on 2/21 - 9 days later - i had a quant blood test bc i was really dizzy - well, the test came back w a level of 8 - i really have not been seeing an ob since we started w the fertility sp - i did call the ob to see what he thought and his thoughts were that he thinks it might be a chemical preg; what the hell? i also spotted brown today, which, i thought was implantation and he said, oh, sounds like ur getting ur period - thanks for the support buddy

my fertility doc finally called back and he thinks that it is either a very early pregnancy confirmation, or, the HCG shot could cause - PLEASE HELP ME

pls keep ur chin up.. it can be what they say..but it is still possible for it to be the real thing..!!! cos i tested 9-10 day after my trigger shot and it was slightly positive..! but my dh couldn't see so i thought im dreaming.. but after that i got a bit darker positive 13dp trigger.. n then finally went in for hcg n came back with a 24.. which was soo less still pregnant.. n by god's grace im still..!! so pls dont give up hope..!!! the only way to surely know is by doing a repeat hcg test so that if the numbers are doubling or increasing u are definitely preggo..!! good luck..!

Yes, the trigger shot can absolutely cause that test result. Every woman's body metabolizes the HCG differently, and some women can still have some of the HCG in their system 9-10 days after the shot. Unfortunately, the only way to know if you are pregnant is to wait and see if that number rises.

To be honest, I'm not sure why they did the test on you...they should have known that the results would be difficult to interpret that soon after the shot!

I hope the next few days fly by and that you start getting a nice, dark line on an HPT!

Ditto! I would wait it out a few days and test again.

It could go either way! It could be the trigger still, or the beginning of a BFP! Good Luck!

well, last night at midnight, to be exact, i gave in to temptation and took a urine test - then, this am, first morning urine, tested again and let's all say it together, ; i feel like my period is about to start any minute; so, either i am pg and the urine has not detected yet bc the HCG is not at a level of 25 or the quant test was a false positive due to the trigger shot; i know that no one has a magic answer for me, but anything to help me?

You should be about 9DPO today, which is REALLY early for a BFP. I know it really sucks to have no answers and just have to wait, but I think that is the only thing you can do right now. I am crossing my fingers that you start to see something on those tests soon! That spotting definitely could have been implantation...I hope so!

Yes the ovidrel can definately cause a false positive. They usually don't do the blood test until 12-14 days. HTH.

I definitely agree with the other ladies. That's why they don't want you testing until much later. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
