I'm going back to my ob/gyn next week. What tests should I ask for? I've been on Metformin since January and not 100% positive that I am even ovulating. My last appt FSH and LH levels were checked (normal) and of course, insulin. So what next?

Did they test your FSH and LH on CD 3? The day on which they test is very important.

You should probably ask for a fertility panel - its around 20 vials of blood (!!), but they test for everything. Thyroid, prolactin, clotting disorders, autoimmune issues, chromosomes, you name it.

Have you thought about seeing an RE? The second I started having issues, my OB/GYN referred me out immediately. RE's specialize in this kind of thing and have tests/"tricks" they do that your run-of-the-mill gyn typically doesn't know about.

I was on Metformin for about 3 months before things started 'working' for me... I agree about the CD3 tests, which it seems you've already done... but if an RE is not in the cards, maybe your insurance will be willing to try that list of tests Toots listed below??

We did the basic work up pp mentioned. Also an u/s on cd 14 to see where follies where at and nothing abnormal (thought a cyst or fibroid on an old us) and a cd 21 bloodwork (confirm ovulation, check levels). We are
Still with the Ob.
