I'm on Gonal-F right now and have been since last Friday. I don't have any side effects.

I didn't really notice any side effects from it. I've heard some girls complain about pain in the ovaries or their ovaries feeling heavy. But I did only end up with 1 egg ready to trigger, so maybe that's why I didn't feel full or heavy.

I think your RE determines what meeds you take based on your action plan. I think Gonal-F is for IVF only but I could be wrong. If it can also be used for IUI's I was not told to take it. I was only told to do the clomid during my 2 IUI's and Gonal-F during my IVF's.

Maybe someone else can give you a more definite answer.

Good luck!

I did Gonal-F to conceive my daughter. I had no issues with it and like it much better than Clomid!

I did Gonal F injections for 4 cycles and didn't notice any side effects. The injections were not fun, but I would take them any day over Clomid.....that stuff made me crazy!

I did Gonal F injections for each of my 3 IUI cycles, in addition to Clomid. I didn't notice any side effects either. Clomid gave me headaches and mood swings and the trigger shot gave me a killer headache but Gonal F was fine.

I can't remember how much it cost us. I think that our insurance covered part of it though.

I just looked at my paperwork from Freedom Pharmacy. My Gonal-F with no insurance coverage for those meds are $1820.00. That was for 2 900IU pens and 1 300IU pen.
