My RE thinks it's very likely that I'm going to hyper stimulate. Are there any at home remedies that I can be doing at home to help not hyper stimulate? I read on yahoo answers someone saying they used gatorade and v8 juice. I'm just trying to do anything and everything I can. I'm going to be devastated if this cycle is cancelled.

I'm an emotional mess

My RE said to drink lots and lots of gatorade and eat lots of protein. However, she also said that she believed if you're gonna get, then you're gonna get it and there's no preventing it. My E2 was around 10,000 when I triggered. I had no symptoms of OHSS before the transfer. I didnt start developing symptoms until 5 days AFTER the transfer.

Brynn - I am sorry you are going through this I had OHSS my first IVF cycle. I did the following and it made it manageable:

-I ate things with tons of salt - I know that sounds very unhealthy but it helps your body store the excess fluid in the rest of your body and not your abdomen

-drank gatorade and water by the gallon - just make sure that you are continuing to pee all the time.

- rest.. don't do any strenuous exercise. Maybe have a 30 minute walk a day.

- go on a low carb, high protein diet... It helps your insulin levels regulate themselves!

Your RE should have lowered your stimm meds - and just let you coast a bit until ER - this is what I did the first cycle. The second cycle the RE made me stimm slower and with a lower stimm - I only got 1/2 of the eggs but I didn't have OHSS.

I hope this helps!!!! Hang in there....

I recently read that you should also make sure to get some caffeine as it is a diuretic. I wouldn't go overboard with it though. Maybe a couple of cups of coffee in the morning.

I don't have any symptoms. I never had symptoms before the 1st time either. He said I'm going to because I have to many eggs. He counted approx. 40 and said typically I should have approx.15 My E2 levels he said were normal and eggs size on Friday were ranged between 9 and 11. He said we would trigger at 16. I'll post an update tomorrow after my appointment. Oh this is with injectables Gonal-F and Menopur. Thanks

Did your doctor say why you may be at higher risk to hyper stimulate other than the fact that you have before?
