Today is my last day of 100mg Clomid for this cycle and I'm not feeling at all hopeful. I'm having a difficult time convincing myself we stand a chance since the last 5 rounds of Clomid didn't lead to conception. (The first four of those were only 50mg.)

Any success stories on Clomid after so many failed attempts?

My RE refuses to give Femera due to a "black box" warning. Personally, I've done my own reading and could care less about it but he won't budge.

Femera has a warning that states it may cause birth defects (but hasn't been studied in depth). Personally, I am not at all concerned about the warnings for the following reasons:

* Femera has a short half-life meaning it doesn't build up in the body like Clomid. Realistically the Femera would be completely out of your body by the time the baby implants.
* There's no information about if the women with the issues were infertility patients or breast cancer patients.
~ If she is a breast cancer patient then, how do we know it's not another one of her meds OR how do we know it's not a result of the drug combination?
~ If she is an infertility patient, who's to say there wasn't an underlying genetic issue anyway. (Even with all the genetic testing possible, my RE still feels ours is an undiagnosed genetic issue.)
~ There's a lot to be said for coincidence, too. Birth defects DO happen without a "cause." A friend of mine has lost two sons due to different birth defects. No meds, no genetic issue for her or her DH in testing.
* Lastly, since this hasn't arisen from a study there's no way of knowing how many women reported birth defects and how many had healthy babies.

I should add that my RE agrees with my logic, but still refuses to give the med.

Have Hope! When I was ttc my DD (4 years ago), I did 6 rounds of Clomid and concieved on the 6th cycle which was 150 mg. I am about to start my 4th round of Clomid and I'll be taking 150 mg this time. The 6th cycle I used Preseed, have you used that? It did the trick for me! Don't give up or count yourself out yet!

Thank you for that! This is our 6th cycle of it. We are doing 100mg, trigger, preseed, and possible IUI. (Going to repeat the post-coital test at my request.)
