So I had another monitoring appt today. For the 1st time I did not get bad news. Still approx. 40 eggs all growing around 11mm right now. I have another appt on Wednesday. RE is hoping I can do trigger Wednesday night and ER on Friday. That might change a day or 2 depending on Wednesdays U/S and b/w.

The nurse asked me if I was feeling the follicles because I have so many of them. I told her NO I feel nothing. She seems surprised. She said we will do a transfer if I feel fine after the retrieval. So I'm guessing that if I have no effects of hyperstimulation then we will go ahead with retrieval next week.

So I'm in desperate need of prayers this week. I'm hoping and praying that everything goes all well and we get our BFP the end of the month.

I'll have another update on Wednesday.

The reason I have so many eggs is because my body is over reacting to the meds. That is when hyper stimulation occurs. A women typically at this time should have 10 to 15 eggs.

Thanks for the prayers

Hoping and praying for you!
I do have to say, if I could do things over, I would have waited a month and done the FET. I didn't get severe hyperstimulation...but I did suffer from the effects of high estrogen... migraines, vomiting, severe bloating.
But, who knows, maybe an FET wouldn't have been a success for me.
Best of luck to you!

Brynn - i really hope that you have a successful egg removal and transfer; that is great that you are not freaking out about the eggs; maybe your calmness and positive spirit is really helping

stupid question but what happens to eggs that are not retrieved?

Thank you, I have no clue how the egg retrieval works. Maybe they will take all eggs out and only use the 10 to 15 best eggs and leave the rest. Maybe they will take all and fertilize all. I really have no clue but as soon as I know I will post.
My 1st IVF I never made it to ER:-(

Brynn - they will harvest all that is possible to harvest and try to aspirate as much of the fluid as they can from each follicle. They don't want you to have mature follicles left that can ovulate on their own and cause problems down the line. Also, the fluid in each follicle needs to be aspirated because if that fluid is free within your abdomen that will contribute to OHSS. I think you have a good shot of making it to ER since you are not feeling anything yet and your Estrogen is within good levels. My Estrogen was too high on the very first monitoring visit and I had to reduce the levels and ended up with mild OHSS. So, I think it's good news that you are this far without your levels being too high and no symptoms yet!!!

I am going to be on pins and needles waiting for your report on Wednesday!!
