I also love my wine so I understand the difficulty. When DH and I first decided to start TTC, I completely cut out all alcohol for about three months before we even started trying and then for about the first 6 months that we tried. Then when I started getting tired of the whole TTC process I slowly started letting myself have a drink here and there. I went back to drinking socially for the next year or so. I just cut it back out of my diet about 2 weeks ago when I started Lupron injections. I always kind of worried that it could be hurt my chances so it kind of feels good to have completely cut it out again.

Good luck to you!

and it makes me nervous to be taking fertility meds and drinking alcohol - never know, right? Good luck to you too - it is going to be really hard for me, as I am always socializing and meeting friends after work for a couple drinks, etc but i am hopeful that the results will prove good; now i just have to find things to do on weekend nights - no more bars

I barely ever drank, but I stopped a few months in to TTC after I started having miscarriages just as a precaution. I now drink maybe once every 6-8 months, and even then im such a lightweight now that I cant have more than 2-3

you know..i actually drank quite a bit of wine..(i gave up all other alcohol..b/c white wine had the least calories) and still got pregnant..Actually i couldnt understand why i got drunk off of 2 small glasses of wine..turns out i was pregnant! I am not a heavy drinker though..i would have a couple glasses on the weekend and that was it..We had been told quit all alcohol..quit this and quit that..then my life became an obsession over ttc..after 3 years i just quit quitting everything..and low and behold it happened..it doesnt always work that way i know..but the least stressed you are the better! HUGS! good luck! If you feel that is what is best..then that is what is best for you! By no means am i telling you not to do it!

I only had an occasional drink, but quit completely before we started any kind of MA...figured I wanted every chance I could get. I didn't think it was a big deal to just not drink alcohol. Now caffeine, on the other hand, was another story

My response has been the same as Jessie's. I quit drinking anything about 4 months into trying to conceive, but it just didn't seem to be worth it anymore after about a year and a half. Like Jessie, I was stressing myself out about TTC and relaxing the no alcohol thing among others led to a little more sanity for me. Plus, my husband is a wine-maker and professional brewer, so alcohol tastings and its enjoyment is a part of our lives definitely.

I never quit drinking- although we drink maybe once a month. But I just find now, that I have no desire to drink. But that could be because I can get like an irresponsible frat boy . Like others though, caffeine is a totally different story.

I still have a fuzzy navel or strawberry daiquiri once a month. My RE has always said it's fine in moderation. When I was prego with my 7 year old we went on a cruise and I did not know I was prego(found out 5 days after we got home) we were drinking every night. I think our alcohol bill for the 5 days was over $300.00. I was really concerned but what do you do? We were not trying at the time but also not preventing either. He turned out perfectly healthy.....well somedays at least LOL
I probably wont drink at all during my next pregnancy unless it's New Years I might bring in 2012 with an oz or 2 of wine

I haven't had a drink since we started TTC almost 2 years ago, but I was never big on alcohol anyway. If you like wine, I really don't think a glass here or there would be impacting your fertility.

Regarding drinking: DH said "Isn't that how most people get pregnant?" lol made me laugh.

I only have a drink during the first 2 weeks then nothing during the 2WW.
