I took my 10,000 trigger last night as directed. Giving myself the shot did not hurt but afterward I'm really sore. I had a hard time sleeping last night because I was so sore in that area. I don't remember this being a problem before with my IUI's almost 2 years ago. I'm still pretty sore and it hurts when I'm sitting down and when I walk. It's not really painful more just really sore.

Is this typical???

Hmmm, ive never heard of triggering in the "bum" area! My RE always said about an inch below the belly button! I know progesterone goes in the bum area, are you using ovidrel? I wonder if it matters where you do it?

I also did my trigger shots in the same spot on my backside and also used Novarel. I was always sore in that area for a couple days. Hang in there, the soreness will go away soon

I didnt' do the trigger in my bum, but I did progesterone injections there. I found that it really helped to put a heating pad on the area to soothe the soreness away.

Thanks Melissa, I'll try the heating pad tonight and I'll keep that in mind for the Progesterone shots as well.

I don't remember the name of my trigger, but my nurse always did it and she did it right above my butt. And it always hurt/sore for a few days. GOOD LUCK!

The nurse gives me Novarel in my high hip. Also progesterone there too.

I always did my trigger for my clomid cycles in my rear end too, and because of my hospital's policy(at least where I was before) I had to get my shots in two doses, so one in each cheek. some heat always helped ease it.

My trigger was always done in my belly about an inch from my belly button. But it was sore and the first time when the nurse gave me the shot I had a bruise for a week.
