Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself here! I have been on JM for a while on and off, but never posted on this board before now. We are dealing with MFI, and are scheduled for our first RE appointment on Tuesday. I'm a little freaked out and excited at the same time! We have already gotten some bloodwork done on DH, Chromosome Analysis, CF screening and everything came back normal. We already know from what the RE told our doctor before that we will most likely need IVF w/ICSI due to a very low sperm count and poor motility.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi, I will probably be posting here frequently with all kinds of questions once we see the RE and they tell us our next step. Thanks for reading!

Welcome to the board! My name is Melissa, and I'm one of the co-hosts of the board. We conceived our daughter using IVF w/ ICSI, and we have lots of IVF vets here to answer any questions that you have. Good luck with your appointment on Tuesday, and I hope you'll find our board to be a helpful and supportive place to come to during your journey!

Welcome! I'm not sure if you're already looking in to this or not, but there are also natural herbs/supplements that you can take to help increase sperm count, motility, etc. If you're interested, let me know and I'll look up which ones in my herbal remedies book help sperm, then you can google them and see if you think it seems like a good idea.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone! Sorry i am just now posting again, it's been a crazy week! We had our RE appointment yesterday, and it went well. We didn't find out anything we don't already know yet, it was mostly just a consulatation and get to know you appointment. I did get scheduled for the first few tests they want to do on me, an ultrasound on CD 12 and a Progesterone draw on CD 21. Then when my next cycle starts, I am supposed to call and tell them so that they can schedule an HSG. I'm a little freaked out about that one, but I am hoping I won't have too much pain with it!

DH is on a multivitamin, but I am definitely open to herbal remedies as well!

Hi, im Ashley and I am another one of the co-hosts here!

Im glad to hear your appt went well! I wouldnt worry too much about the HSG some women do say it was painful, but in my experience it was like a very mild AF, and over pretty quickly!

Good Luck!

Welcome! I also had the HSG and I took a motrin 800 an hour before the test and it was uncomfortable but not too painful. Good luck!

Thanks JulieC! I will definitely take that advice and take a painkiller before the test! I am somewhat used to having painful (though not debilitating) periods, so I am hoping it won't be much worse than that!
