for those that have been pregnant, what was your temp reading consistently? i know we are all different and i dont temp, but, i did take this am just to see what it was and it was 98.5 - that does not seem like a pregnancy temp to me
Married May 2010
TTC since August 2010, almost a year
IUI in December 2010 - BFP - chemical
IUI on 3/13/11 - BFN
April natural cycle - BFP on 4/22 - chemical confirmed 4/28
IUI done on 5/12 - BFN
IUI #4 done 6/6 - BFN
so sick of getting BFNs
total of 4 failed IUIs
IVF in July
using acupuncture 1x week, Royal Jelly, pre natals, organic Spirulina, Maca Root and Red Raspberry tea
Sorry I'm not any help on this one...I didn't temp during any of my medicated cycles. I think that it really varies from person to person, so I'm not sure you could really tell unless you have been temping consistently to see how it fluctuates throughout your cycle. I'm rooting for you this cycle...hang in there!

A random temperature really won't tell you much, you would have to temp for at least one cycle to find your "pattern" and then go from there. 98.5 may be high for someone, but normal for somebody else. Medications can also mess with the patterns (typically make temps higher than normal).
One thing I DID notice about temping is that both times I've been pregnant, my temp patterns have been eerily similar.

Each individual will have "typical" pre-O, during O and post-O temperatures, but they are relative to a lot of circumstances specific to that person. For people who chart temperatures, they consistently take their temperature at the same time every morning after 4 consecutive hours of uninterrupted sleep. The typical room temperature and how hot that person sleeps will affect their temp. Also, a person who takes their daily temp at 5am will have consistently lower temps than someone who takes their temp at 8am. Because of all that, nobody can tell you if that temperature would be a typical pregnancy temp for you or not. Even if you had a whole month's worth of temps to help you see a pattern, that single temperature still wouldn't mean anything...I have reached temperatures that I had while pregnant with DD in tons of cycles post-O since and haven't achieved pregnancy again.
If it helps you at all, here is my charting homepage - I added a few charts to it so you can see. The very bottom chart is my successful pregnancy chart - as you can see, I hit some of those post-O preg temps in other cycles where I didn't get pregnant.
