I just started my first cycle of clomid and I want to take progesterone although my RE did not prescribe it. I'm wondering when you started the progesterone supplement during your cycle. I have some left over from my December 05 pregnancy. That stuff was expensive! I will call my RE tomorrow to see what he thinks.

I take it from CD18 until I know I'm not pg. I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't suppose to be on it without supervision. Even if you had low progesterone the first pg doesn't mean it will happen again. Even if you do the meds aren't the best after they have sat around for so long, some meds actually can "turn" on you. I'd talk to your doctor about your levels if you feel uncomfortable with it.

I would not take it unless your RE told you to because your progestrone may be fine now. Not all pregnancies that a woman has are alike. It may also interfere with the testing that they will do too. It can interfere with blood test results that they may perform on you. The RE has a reason for not perscribing the progestrone. Did you ask them why they didn't want you on it? Do you know what your progestrone was before the Clomid? If so, what were they? Good Luck!!
