I got my results back from my Dr. and it was a 2.2 so I he said I diidn't ovulate but I did the Home opk that you pee on and the results came back saying I did. The First line was way darker then the test line (the line that makes sure it was working or what ever.) you know the line that you compare your line too. I can't remember the name. My Dr. Had taken me off my clomid for this and next cycle to give me a break then he will increase it. I don't understand how the opk can say I ovulated when I didn't or is this a common occurance? Somebody help.

I was using OPK's and they all ended up being positive so I talked to my doctor and he said that some women have a LH surge all the time or at least those of us that don't O on our own. I hadn't heard of this until it happened to me. So I just stopped using them. Another thing that could cause it is that your body could have gotten geared up to O and just didn't. Sometimes that happens too. Are you charting any other signs, such as CP, CM, Temps?? If so, how were they on the days that you thought that you O'ed?? I hope that everything works out. Keep us posted!

OPK's don't actually measure whether your ovulated, they measure your LH surge. LH is the hormone your body secretes all the time, but peaks right before O. It is possible to detect your LH surge on you OPK, but still not release the egg.

There are other certain medical issues like PCOS where these women have higher levels of LH and get positive OPK's throught their cycles.

I hope next cycle is the lucky one for you.
