I just got back from my second u/s to confirm that I am miscarrying. I went in for my first u/s last week and all they found was an empty gestational sac. They told me to come back this week to see if anything had changed. Unfortunately, it hadn't. They said that it was a blighter ovum - meaning that my embryo probably had some sort of chromosomal abnormality so my body terminated the pregnancy. I have an appointment with my OB tomorrow afternoon to discuss doing a D&C.

I'm feeling really sad but I was kind of expecting this all week so at least it isn't a complete shock. I just can't believe that after everything we went through to get pregnant now I am miscarrying. I've known for awhile that getting pregnant was going to be hard for us but I guess I never thought that staying pregnant would also be hard.

On the up side, we have four snowbabies waiting for us so we will try again as soon as we can.

Thank you everyone. I had a little bit of a breakdown about this last night but I think that it helped because I felt a lot better after I cried to DH for awhile. I guess the pain will keep coming in waves for awhile.

I know that too many of you know how this feels... As Ashley and Jen both said - miscarriages suck!

Jenn, I'm so sorry. When I miscarried, I felt like I was in a slow motion action movie where my husband and I were running and catching every bullet that came at us. We weren't able to dodge any of them; infertility; no frozen embies due to poor response; miscarriage. All of it. But we took some time off and tried again. Sometimes its all you can do. I'm thinking about you.

I'm so sorry. It just seems to wrong and unfair when these things happen. I had a loss in June and it still hurts, but the waves come less often.

Jenn - I am so so sorry - please know I am sending every good thought & prayer your way. Miscarriages are so disorienting - one day you feel life has you headed in one direction and the next day you feel completely off course. Please take care of yourself - I know all your patience and loving sacrifice will pay off soon!!
