For anyone using a sperm donor do you try to match your blood type? Im negative and nervous about using a positive donor. Also I had one picked out but the place its from just said he has less than five reported pregnancies and he has been with them almost 2 years. This just does not sound good to me, and do you stay with the cmv + and - *( to match you )

We picked blood type to match me and DH simply to make things easier with worrying about compatibility and RH factor.

As for the number of pregnancies, you also need to ask how frequently is the donor chosen? Because if the donor has only been chosen and used 7 times, 3-4 pregnancies is fairly normal in a 2 year span.

I just looked more into it and it says the paperwork was completed 2 years ago. But he has only been available since jan 2011. So may be normal. I also think matching the blood type would make me feel much better

5 pregnancies in 8 months is good.

Really its about what makes you feel good. You should fell comfortable about who your donor is, and if this donor doesn't make you comfortable, don't be afraid to look into another donor or even another bank.
