Hi girls! I am 13 dpo and BFN still so I guess I'm out. I'm taking 200 mg of Prometrium orally each day. My temp is SLOWLY dropping but not taking it's usual pre-AF nosedive yet. I assume because of the Prometrium. My question is....am I supposed to eventually just stop taking it for AF to come? Or will she come even while on it and THEN I stop? Since I know sometimes BFPs show late....if I'm supposed to stop the pills, at what point do I give up on BFP if AF doesn't show???? Thanks for your help!

I don't have any advice since I have never been on Prometrium, but I just wanted to wish you luck. Maybe you will have a BFP waiting for you under the tree this year!!

I've always heard of Dr's having you stop using it on or after 14DPO(ish)? Did your dr not mention when to stop taking it?

I was told to take it until 15 DPO, and if no positive HPT at that point, then to discontinue.

My doctor requires a beta test at 14 or 15 dpo and then tells me to stop the progesterone as soon as the labs confirm a negative. My period won't start until I stop the meds, but I think it can for some people.

My doctor always had me discontinue it after getting a negative beta-so around 14 dpo. But they always required a beta.

Sorry about the negative I hope you have awesome news at Christmas time!

I was on Prometrium last cycle. The RE told me when to get off it & then AF came 2 days later.

My dr also always had me stop around 15 dpo after testing. If it was positive, she wanted me to stay on, but if I was pregnant and somehow missed it and stopped, my period still wouldn't come, so it wouldn't be a huge deal. It's just "routine" for me to stay on prometrium for a few weeks after BFP.
