Yay!!! I've been emailing back and forth with my doc today and she agreed to EVERYTHING I wanted for this cycle!! She is upping my Femara to 7.5 mg.....writing script for name brand ONLY.....and is going to dilate my cervix on CD10!

I WILL get a Christmas BFP!

WOO HOO! I cannot wait to celebrate with you!!

Why is she going to dilate your cervix? Do they have a difficult time with IUI? or is it supposed to helped keep it open for timed intercourse?

From what I understand she will insert a catheter thru my cervix that is approx. 2 mm in diameter to ensure it is open and patent all the way thru. And with any luck it will remain opened thru my ovulation making it LOTS easier for DH's swimmers to get thru! Some docs will even insert a stint that will hold your cervix open but I don't think we will be doing that.

Thanks, Melissa!

I had severe cervical stenosis before I conceived Lilly and had my cervix dilated (as part of my lap and wedge resection surgery) and low and behold we conceived her shortly afterward. So, I wanted to try it again this time since I know the scar tissue can grow back (and in fact did while I was pregnant with Lilly). Our intent is to keep it open for TI.

Good luck! It's such a good feeling to be happy about your plan!

I felt like I was butting heads a bit with my doctor this cycle but I'm going to see her in person tomorrow morning and I feel like she understands my concern now. I still don't have a lot of faith in a good outcome this cycle but at least I feel listened to! Here's hoping that positive feeling helps me get a BFP.

JILL!!!!

Hey I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK!!! And also I thought it was a lot easier the second time around with fertility meds. It was like I had to push hard the first time but then once they had figured out what worked, it was easy the second time. I didn't have to wait for a consultation, I just got right in, and then they went right back to what worked. It was awesome. To those still TTC #1 - keep pushing!!

Hey Beth!

I wish it were that easy for us! I actually think TTC this one has been WAAAYYYY more stressful than when we were TTC Lilly! With her there was the possibility that is just wouldn't happen. But now we KNOW how to make it happen (because we got Lilly) and it's not working. This will be our 5th medicated cycle for TTC #3.....we got Lilly on our FIRST Femara cycle. However......I have a really good feeling that this will also be our LAST cycle! I WILL get a Christmas BFP!
