I recently had a follow up appointment with my RE and was sent for an u/s to check for follicles.... nadda. I have not ovulated with 2.5mg OR 5mg of Femara. He said to try 7.5mg this next cycle (currently on Prometrium) and if that doesn't work then I'll be looking at injectables or ivf.
Has anyone else had an experience with Femara not making you ovulate?
He suggested that Clomid probably won't have any effect on me as Femara is often used when Clomid fails to work.

I have not taken Femara, so I am no help as far as that goes. Femara works for some women, and Clomid for others. Sometimes neither one helps...just depends on your body/hormones/etc.
Have you had bloodwork done to test all of your hormone levels?

Clomid works for some, Femara works for others. What bloodwork have you done?

Clomid did not work for me but 5 mg of Femara got me pg with my DD the first cycle. We are now on cycle 6 of Femara...the first 5 were 5 mg and this one is 7.5 mg. I am ovulating every cycle tho.

I've had lots and lots of blood work done and the findings were that everything was within normal ranges except for an elevated LH level. I always have high LH no matter what point I'm at in my cycle.

High LH can mean a number of things....including PCOS, early menopause, ovarian failure, etc. Have you had your AMH levels measured?

I'm not really sure all what has been checked! The RE has determined that there is absolutely no reason why I'm not ovulating on my own though!

My only hormone that is not within normal range is a high LH as well, and this is why my RE diagnosed me with PCOS. It is nearly impossible to ovulate on your own with an elevated LH.
ideally your LH should be under control with meds, staying nice and low until just before your ovulation, when it spikes. It has to spike to trigger ovulation. If it's always high- it could be damaging to your egg quality and it prevents ovulation.
Clomid almost always helped me ovulate, but I didnt have success until I used injectibles.
I hope that you are able to figure out what combo works for you so you can have your BFP!!

PCOS was thrown around as a diagnosis a few times but given I don't have any other symptoms of it what-so-ever the RE said we'll just say it's something like PCOS but not really because he really doesn't know!
My testosterone levels are within the normal range and my U/S came back with nothing abnormal going on with my ovaries.
What injectables worked for you Melissa? That's looking like it will be the next step for us if this high dose round of Femara doesn't work!
ETA: Congratulations! I just noticed your ticker!
