Has anyone's RE measured their blood AMH levels? It is supposed to be a better predictor of ovarian reserve than FSH because it is more constant and does not really change depending on your cycle day (FSH should be taken around day 3).

Apparently, a level of 1-3 ng/ml is within the normal range (lower than 1 or .5 can indicate less of an ovarian reserve). Anything over 3.5 ng/ml is high and indicative of PCOS.

Well heck...my level came back at 9.5 ng/ml Which seems kind of like an outrageous level and means that there is a much greater risk that I will overstim because basically I have 4374287529 little follicles on my ovaries. I guess I'm the poster girl for pcos in this regard.

I mean, I'm glad that I have a lot of eggs/follicles left, but I'm worried about overstimming. For me, stimming tends to take a long (LONG) time, but when things get going it's like BANG...estrogen levels sky rocket fast and I get a bunch of follies.

Anyways, has anyone else had this test...my RE only just begun testing for this particular hormone.

Ive had it twice in the last year and both times mine came back normal, but on the high side of normal. I too take forever to respond to meds and then get a lot of little follicles quickly. My re watches me very closely so i don't overstim

Mine came back a year ago at .78 and a couple months ago was 1.4. I'm only 27 so I didn't expect it to be low. I guess if I ever do injectables, I'm not a high risk for over-stimming.

Mine was 2.46 normal range. I am 41. My RE did tell me this test is way better and more stable than the FSH test.

Is there anything they can do to make abnormal ranges better?
