Do you guys administer your shot to yourself? I just can't do it. I can't stick myself with that needle specially in the belly. DH is gonna have to do it.

yes, even the IM trigger. DH is horrible with needles(I won't even let him hold my hand when I get an IV, he gets so freaked out) so its easier to just stab myself.

I did all the ones in my belly...I'm a control freak and it works better if I do it myself. Last time, DH did my IM progesterone shots, but this time I'm going to have to do some of them myself since he will be gone a lot for work...my doc says I can't do them myself, but the JM ladies have convinced me otherwise

At first, I could not. But after a year or so, I finally got brave enough to do it. And found that I actually liked administering them to myself better than DH. I took me a while to get up enough nerve to "stab myself with a needle". ha!

You guys are so brave. I just can't make myself stab myself with a needle. I just can't do it.

I think its all just part of the process. When we started this journey, I couldn't even stand to have my blood drawn without having a panic attack, I'd freak out over every ultrasound, etc. Now that we have done this for so long, blood draws are routine and don't bug me at all, etc.

Ditto! I remember the first time the RE wanted to do a scan on CD1 or 2, I was like, "OMG, I am embarrassed and it will be gross". By the end of my treatments, I would let anyone look at my hoo-ha or stick me with a needle. HA!

Ha ha! DH and I were just talking about this last night...I said I feel like a new kid again going to the doc for all these appointments and that I was nervous. No one but DH has messed with my lady parts for almost 18 months...time to get used to the poking and prodding again!

Oh yeah my first Vaginal Ultra Sound I about died. I was where are you gonna put that thing? I had only had the belly kind with my DS.

And this RE always wants to do a CD3 Ultra sound when AF is still around. EWWWW. I am super used to it now though... heck he has had his entire office staff in there during my ultra sounds and everyone is looking at my vajayjay. lol

Needles though - I just can't stab myself with that little sucker. No way!

My RE's nurse has done them for me, and I have given them to myself. It was MUCH easier when she did it for me and I didnt have to look or know when it was coming!

My DH is a needles wimp, so I had to do them myself. The first time I did it I was watching tv and every segment I'd tell myself that I'd do it next commercial. Now, it's easy.

DH did the morning shots, the trigger and the progesterone shots. I did my evening menopur shot. DH took it very seriously and became pretty good. I think he needed some sort of job in this and maybe helped him feel less out of control.

Melissa--I'm not sure I could do the progesterone shots myself! Those are the worst! It took a perfectly timed shot, a little rub and then a heating pad to make those tolerable! Ah, all the stuff we go thru!

So DH did my shot last night. I think you're right Katie. It kinda gave DH a role in this process other than giving me a cup filled with the goods.

Oh I pray I never need that big progesterone shot you guys keep referring to. Fingers crossed really hard on that one!!!!
