Hi there
My name is Amanda(24) and DH is Adam (30) and we've been trying for 2 years with PCOS. I have recently lost 30 pounds and managed to get back cycles on my own. After 2 years of trying and nothing happening I'm not really wanting to sit around and wait anymore to see if I have anything else wrong or something. So I'm CD11 right now and this cycle they're gonna get me into an U/S on CD16(I don't usually O til 19-20) and I guess just see whats going on naturally. After that though she really wants me to start clomid so I think I'm gonna give in and try it. After all this time I'm ready for a
So even though I'm not a newbie to JM or TTC I'm a total newbie to MA. Any advice?
Can't wait to get to know you ladies. I've lurked here a few times in the past

welcome! i hope your stay here is very short. I also have PCOS.
Clomid is not too bad, the worst part is just the side effects that happen while taking the meds. It sounds like your doctor has a good plan for you to start on. has your husband had an SA done? If not, I'd push for that to happen as well, as it can give you an idea if you are dealing with more than just the PCOS. an HSG is also a great diagnostic as well. Please ask if you have any questions, odds are that one of us has dealt with it in the past and we will do our best to help!

Hi! Good job losing weight! Help me now would ya! lol
I hope your DH SA test comes back perfect and they can figure out what you need to do to get your BFP.
I did 3 cycles of Clomid and didnt' have any luck. It did make my eggs nice and juicy but spermies still didnt' make it to them. I hope you have better success.
Good luck.

Hi Amanda, I am also new to this forum!!
I'm so glad you are getting the SA done! My obgyn put me on 3 clomid cycles (low prog and short LP) and after the third I pushed for a SA. That showed DH has a high white blood cell count which is most likely the reason it hasn't happened yet... Thank goodness I asked for it because they were just as happy to keep putting me on meds!
I hope you guys get your bfp soon; it sounds like your doctor is pretty on top of things!

Thanks ladies! Can't wait to get to know you more and all of your stories
DH has had a not so great SA in the past so I'm the one that really said that I wanted another one done. My basic feeling is it took me 2 years to get my cycles going again on their own and I just don't want to sit around and wait another year or so to see whether something else is wrong.

I don't have much advice other than what's already been said, I mainly just wanted to pop in and say welcome and I hope your stay is short I'm on my first month of MA -- meds with timed BDing -- and am in the two-week wait and feeling fine. If your DH's SA comes back with less-than-ideal results, do you think you would jump to IUI?

I can't see jumping straight to IUI in my situation. Even with not good results I think we need some time to try on our own(or with the mix of clomid) plus I just really got DH comfortable with the idea of trying with meds.

You definitely want your DH to be on board with you. This process is hard enough and not having your DH being on the same page as you can make it almost unbearable if not impossible. So be patient with him and do this as a team. You will need his support and he will need yours. Good Luck with whatever plan you guys decide to do next!

Hi and welcome. The more data you have the better so that's good you're having these tests.

hi Amanda, welcome to the group! I agree with PPs that knowledge is always helpful so it's great you're getting tests done to help steer your TTC plan. Good luck to you - I hope you get your BFP quickly!
