I took my 7th bcp last night. The nurse explained that I am on it at the start of my first IVF cycle to "calm my ovaries."

Question: Do you have CM while taking the pill? I've had wetness, not too, too much, and not egg white-ish. I just went to the ladies room and now there's a brownish twinge to it. Do you think I should ask the nurse about it or is it normal? I don't want to O while on the bcp (which this would be around my normal O time. I'm on Nortrel. I also take verothyroxin for my TSH level. Do you think that other medication could make the bcp not work?

May be I'm just paranoid!

It sounds normal, but it can't hurt to call your nurse and ask.

I've no experience with BCP as I'm allergic to them, so good luck.

Hi Mandy. I have been on levothyroxin (I'm assuming it's similar to what you are on) for my TSH for over 20 years and have never known it to interfere with my BCPs. I have had some spotting while on certain BCPs though and was told it was normal. Maybe the brown tinge is just a sign that your body is adjusting to the BCPs.

Thanks, Ladies!

Jenn...I am on verothyroxin. Just 25 mg each morning an hour before I'm going to eat anything. I'm glad they don't interfere. The RE is the one who prescribed them, so I figured she would tell me if they were going to disrupt the BCP, but I never specifically asked that question. Thanks for the reassurance.

I haven't been on bcp since 2007. I guess my body is adjusting to taking them.
