So this cycle grinds to a close, and as expected not with a positive ending...all hpts have been negative (i'm now DPO14)...and I had a few questions I was hoping some of you much more experienced than I am could help me with:

For those who take (or have taken) Prometrium:

-- Does AF delay until you're off Prometrium? How long did it take for AF to start once you ceased taking it?

-- I'm on 200mg suppositories daily for 8 days running from DPO7. It's given me some splitting headaches...I was thinking about asking RE next cycle if I could take 100mg instead twice daily. Does anyone have experience taking different levels, and if you did change the dosage did it reduce the side effects at all?

My Prometrium dosage seems to be higher than everyone else i'm running into who is on it (and not doing IVF...)...not really sure why...thinking maybe i should ask about that too

For those who take (or have taken) Clomid:

-- I think my RE said I'd start this around CD5 for 5 days...is that similar to what you were prescribed?

-- What level dosage did you start with?

If there's anyone who is taking baby asprin during your cycle:

-- Do you take it entire cycle, or just on back half (post Ovulation)?

Progesterone can delay AF, which is why most doctors have you do a beta and then stop it at a certain point.

My RE does clomid on CD3-7. The first time I did clomid, I did 1 round at 50 mg(no repsonse), then two rounds at 150(6 follies each time). The second time around we did 1 rd at 100(3 follies-1 ectopic pregnancy), 1 rd at 150(5 follies, canceled due to overstim and early LH surge), 1 at 100(2 follies, chemical pregnancy).

We're now moving on to letrozole instead.

I am pretty new at this and can't answer many of your questions but I can a few.

The progesterone will most likely stop AF from coming. Once I am off of it for two days AF comes. I am also on 200 mg and I insert it at night before bed and I haven't had any real issues with it except mild pregestrone panties. ewwww!

I had one cycle with 50 mg clomid CD3-7 and two rounds at 100 mg also CD 3-7.
It did make me feel O pains more strong and I did O because they gave me a trigger shot each time. I had all BFN though. I hope you have better luck.

I am not sure about the baby aspirin.

I took Clomid on days 5-9 of my cycle as well. I started at 25mg (no response) and then we bumped it up to 50mg. I think 50mg is the usual starting dose and then it can be adjusted accordingly for future cycles.

I have taken baby aspirin in the past, and took it every day.

So this morning I've had some heavy spotting...and i'm on day 7 of the Prometrium, so 1 more dose to do tonight. I can't figure out if I should take it, or call the RE and ask if I should stop now. WWYD? I know I'm not pregnant, so I'd rather just get onto next cycle...today is CD28 which is precisely when AF should start, so now I feel like the Prometrium is just messing me up

So I decided to call Dr office to figure out whether I should stop taking the progesterone....they say keep taking even if it's heavy spotting unless it starts into heavy flow this afternoon/evening, in which case skip the final dose.

Of interest, while I had nurse on the line I asked what the result was of the unmedicated progesterone level blood draw I had a week ago...result was a 9.2, so based on the other progesterone level thread it appears I'm maybe not producing an optimal amount anyway

I'll be curious what my RE says when I see him for the baseline appt in a few days...he suspected when we last met that my loss issues are more tied to hormonal issues (low progesterone, maybe low other hormones for ovulation) than the blood clotting disorder.

I had the same thing happen last month. I started spotting even though I was taking it at CD 28 so I knew AF was coming. My RE told me the same thing. Take it unless you have full flow or a negative blood test.

I felt the same as you did last cycle.. I knew it was negative and just wanted to get AF to start again.
