Hi my name is shanise some girls might know me i did pregnancy predicitions on this site for a while i did them for free but they made me stop doing it but anyways. I hope i am not judged by what i am about to say but i am in a same sex relationship and me and my partner are going to try reciprocal ivf treatment's this is where they take one partners egg and inserts them into the other partner to be the carrier. I am going to be the carrier and my partner is going to give me her eggs.
I know IVF is very costly and I was wondering if any of you ladies knew things to do like what kind of financing i need to get or like insurance companies that are just for fertility. I know a lot of places that give grants for ivf couples but they will not give me a grant for the specific procedure i want so i have to look at other options.
For the ladies that have already been through IVF cycles like what was the cost and what did you do in order to cover it if you dont mind me asking.
TIA for all of your help and comments and advice.
O also does anyone know of a good place in Texarkana/Dallas/Ft. Worth/Little Rock Areas I live in Texarkana and i want to find a good dr. I know Collom and Carney is here but i want to make sure they are the best

Shanise! Hi!
It seems like every state has different insurance laws for infertility. I'm lucky to be in a state that covers fertility treatments. I am doing IVF this cycle too. Just waiting on AF to get here so I can start.
As far as the money thing, I know that some ladies on here found clinics who offer different discounts. I'm sure someone will chime in with that.
Good luck! Hoping for a BFP soon for all of us!

I am in Texas, but live in Houston, so I am not familiar with clinics in your area. My IVFs were not covered through my medical insurance, except for medicine. There are "Discount Medical Programs" that you may find that doctors in your area participate in. They are not insurance programs, but programs that have negotiated rates for services that are not covered under insurance. Your doctor must agree to participate with the program. We saved about 4K on our IVF cycles because I did research to find out which program my doctor worked with! Not sure if I am able to list the website here, but you can google Optum Health Allies if you want to read more about a Discount Medical Program. Good luck!

Welcome! We actually have another gal on here that is pregnant with her girlfriend's eggs, so you might want to PM her to share info! Her user name is, appropriately, Two Mamas.
Insurance didn't cover any of our IVF, either. It came out to be between $14-15k when all was said and done. We had been saving for a while because we knew that IVF was a possibility. We also sold a 3rd, fun vehicle that we didn't really need to help pay for it.
Ask your doc if they have any discounts for self-pay patients...both of the fertility clinics I have worked with offer them. Lots of girls on our board have used credit cards or personal loans from the bank to finance IVF. Most fertility clinics have a Finance or Business Manager, and I would start with them and see what you can find out. GOod luck!

welcome & good luck to you!
I don't know anything about IVF, but I am in DFW area and my RE is with the Advanced Reproductive Care Center ( Reproductive Care Dallas) I don't know whether they're the best in the area, but my doctor came recommended to me by several people.

Hi Shanise - I also have to pay for everything out of pocket except for bloodwork and ultrasounds. Nothing else is covered. We are not sure how we are going to cover it but plans are in the works.
Good Luck
