Well had my day 10 ultrasound this am and he found only 1 follicle measuring 17.5 I was expecting more, the last time I had at least 6, 4 of which were good sized. I am to use the Ovidrel Monday night and DTD that night and the next. He said that next month we can add injectibles.
Now I KNOW it only takes one egg, but here are the things that are going thru my head....

-should I skip trying this month and wait to see if I have more eggs, more chances with the letrozole+injectibles? I havent had problems with ovulation or getting pregnant, my problem has been maintaining a pregnancy

-what if this 1 egg ends up being 'bad' and I have another loss? I will beat myself up with I should have waited.

-Ryan quit smoking 5 weeks ago, would it be better for us to wait another month (we dont know if he has issues or not but what if?)?

-Or would the result be the same...1 egg or 4 eggs, if it meant to be it will and if not.....

One follicle is all it takes! It can't hurt to try, and if this doesn't work, then you know t change things up next week.

I had one follicle for my last IUI. It's the baby girl I'm pregnant with now. There's plenty of hope. Just takes one good one.

Sandy - don't wait. I know you are afraid of the thought of facing another loss, but don't wait. Keep trying. You know you have one good follie. That could be your forever baby you get to hold. Don't wait...a loss is never easy but you have to keep trying. Don't waste this cycle - one follie is not a waste. It could work this cycle and then you don't have to worry about next cycle.

Think positive. What if this ONE follie is an excellent egg? One excellent egg could be a lot better than 4 average ones. So I'll just hope, pray and wish that this one is the best egg possible and that's all it takes to get your sticky

Thank you guys!!!!!! Your all right.....we are going to trigger tonight and give it a whirl. I just need to start having some positive what if's.....

Quick question....when I had the ultrasound which took about 3 minutes he said there was nothing on the right and the one that I did have was on the left...so is it normal to have mild pains or twinges on the side where there are no follicles?? I mean it was a very quick check but I doubt he missed something.
I know that I am not very active on these boards but I really do appreciate everyone who is here. thank you

I've wondered the same thing! The past 2 cycles I've had ultrasounds and I know I O'd on the right side but I've had cramping on the left side BOTH times.

I think it's normal. Clomid made both my ovaries hurt like hell. Every time.

Something interesting is I got pregnant with my ONE good follicle and now they monitor a follicular cyst on my other ovary. I guess one was trying to grow and push out, but never matured and got the chance. That could be happening to you.

Best of luck!! This can happen and you'll be glad you didn't wait!!
