I am torn right now, my dh had his varicocele repair about 4 1/2 months ago so I am hoping that if things improved, this cycle will be a good shot at a natural BFP for us, he just did his follow up SA Friday, we'll know the results sometime this week but he said his stuff looked different (sorry if tmi) he said it was brighter and whiter, all I've been reading online says brighter, whiter semen usually means healthy so while it could be complete myth I am holding out hope this means his results will have improved, so onto my question.

I have been using OPK's since yesterday, at 5:00pm my kit was negative, didn't test again until 11:00pm but it was then positive, its possible my urine was diluted at the 5:00pm one though because I had 2 12oz soda's just an hour before that so it may have been positive then, not sure but usually my OPK's are positive even if I've had a lot of drink when I am surging. From past experience I seem to ovulate 18-20 hours after my first positive kit, I usually never go the 24-36 hours they say you go after a positive, or so it seems due to my signs. Well I just tested again and its still positive at 1:00pm, starting to cramp some too. Dh just told me he may have to work late this evening and he can either come home on a late lunch break and dtd around 2:45pm today or we won't be able to until about 7:00pm-7:30pm this evening, which timing do you think would be better? I am torn, because he is normally home at 5:30pm which I was going to aim for but I don't want to miss it...is it better to do it a few hours before the egg drops, right when the egg drops, or after? I am so OCD when it comes to getting the timing just right, I know when we conceived my son naturally we dtd very close to the egg dropping, I had strong O cramps, dtd, then feel asleep for 3-4 more hours, can't lay that long now that I have a child though. So which time would you choose based on what I specified above?

I'd take the late lunch. It's better to have them waiting on the egg when it releases.

We were told by RE to always DTD before ovulation and right afterward. IT is better to let the spermies wait than to be too late! GOOD LUCK!!

Have him take a late lunch and then DTD again tonight to cover your bases. Always better to get a few more chances in if you can.

Thanks ladies, he came on a late lunch, like 2:45pm, still think its ok to dtd tonight even though he normally has slight count issues? He may not now after the surgery but I would just think the quantity would be quite low dtd tonight after dtd this afternoon, but I guess some in there is better than none? Or would it be better to dtd in the morning to cover the basis?
