.. and she said it was in (thanks for the call-ugh!) and that I can come Monday at 3:30 to go over the results (is that standard procedure?? Makes me think that there is something abnormal) and to start the protocol for IUI.
I am thrilled to finally start the process. She said they will be able to do all that in the same appointment but normally the RE likes to go over BW results before they start the monitoring for IUIs, but since Monday I will already be CD 2 or 3 they are doing it at the same time!!

I am SO hoping this will get me knocked up!!! I'm sure this will be a little overwhelming at first but at the same time I'm excited to learn more about my body (like all the different follies I'll have growing and their sizes).
Obviously I will update as soon as I get back on Monday! Boy that seems far away right now... lol.


**I will take any kind of pointers, advice, insight as to how this will work, etc... that you want to give! I am planning on doing a medicated cycle with a trigger. Thank you!! **

There is nothing better than having a plan of action to get that BFP...how exciting for you!!

My only advice would be to try and be patient...yes, it could work on the first cycle, but it also might take a couple of tries. As long as you are learning something new each time, it is never really a wasted cycle. It is like houses or men or anything else...it is rare to get it right the first time...sometimes the failures allow you to learn so you can eventually end up with the perfect scenario.

Also, have fun with it! No, IUIs and meds and doctors aren't exactly the romantic way you might have planned to get pregnant, but that doesn't mean that you can't try to make it special. Most of our IUIs required that DH give his sample between 5-6am, so I woke him up with some sexy lingerie to get things started sometimes. We would always BD the night of the IUIs, too...there's no way to know which sperm actually fertilized that egg

Nina this is great. I am super excited for you. Going on Cd2 or 3 is perfect. They may even do some more bloodwork too so be prepared for that. It is pretty cool to watch the follies grow.

Melissa is right - make getting the sample fun. DH likes when I play nurse and I am there to help collect the sample. TMI I know, sorry!

I will definitely plan on being there to help him get the sample because I do not believe in married men looking at porn. I know, a little uptight, but that has always been huge to me.

That's not uptight at all! I call that being faithful!

They also have collection condoms that you can get from your RE or order online so you can collect the sample that way...whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

Also I will add that if you have the option of collecting the sample at home, that is your best option. If you do it in the office, you first have to hide all the 80s porn. The room is just gross feeling, and you can hear people in the hallway It is really difficult to make things happen...home is SO much easier

I will second the collection condom and not being a fan of porn For us we felt it was unfaithful to eachother and our faith.

we had FUN with the collection condom We did it in the room at the office a few times, it was OKAY, but our home is too far away to drive the sample in- or atleast it just cuts it too close for comfort. So for our transfer we parked in the basement of the garage where NO ONE GOES at the office/ hospital lol and covered the windows and totally did it in the car. We had it all set up with blankets pillows and it was so fun lol- sorry if that was TMI ahahaha

Thank you SO much for sharing your stories!! Wow, that makes me feel better! You know, these days it feels like I am made to feel bad if I don't believe in porn since it seems like every guy looks at it, no matter if married or not. But honestly, I do think it's a form of cheating!! Thank you girls for letting me know that you feel the same way! And I had no idea about the collection condoms!!! Wow! So (sorry for going into details but this is SO new to me) you "do it" like with a normal condom but then you give it to them?? That's really awesome; I'll be sure to ask about that on Monday!! Every SA we had said to not use any kind of condom to obtain the "sample"... I can't tell you how much I appreciate you sharing your stories; since I've never been through this it feels kinda overwhelming. But the collection condom is the best news I've had in a while! DH was already stressing about having to do it there. The RE is about 40 min from the house so that is cutting it a little close I think.... But maybe we can do it in a lot somewhere.

My RE was about a 90 minute drive, and he let us collect the sample at home. I stuck the little container in the waistband of my pants (in your bra is another option, but these A cups don't really cut the mustard) and drove to the RE. I was always terrified of getting pulled over for speeding on the way and having to explain why there was a cup of semen in my jeans

I agree with you ladies on the Porn issue. My DH has struggled in the past with internet porn issues therefore that is a sore subject for us (me). Besides collecting together can be fun and when you do get your BFP, you know you did most of it together. I will say though...DH says the sides of those collection cups are hard and hurt so a collection condomn might be better. hehe!

My clinic doesnt have anything in the open...my DH had to rummage through cabinets to find some super old magazines LOL! Also found some lube in the back of a drawer. So definitely try to bring some stuff if you need it

Thanks ladies... I am so in shock. lol. That really was the last thing I was expecting; I am still not quite sure why I even chose to POAS. I had to pee and figured I can give it one more since AF was supposed to be here tomorrow.

No we aren't keeping the appt since there really isnt a need; they can't do anything yet at this point. I am going in at 7am for BW; they will check progesterone and if needed, prescribe it.
