Among the parents who'd had a baby through IVF, 17 percent later had another child without assistance. And among couples who originally failed to have a baby with fertility treatment, 24 percent went on to have one from a spontaneous pregnancy.

A friend of mine had exactly this experience...IVF failed for her & her husband and they'd basically given up hope (this after several years of trying everything, and culminating in the failed IVF) and started down the path of adoption, and 3 months later became unexpectedly pregnant w/o any meds or intervention at all and resulted in a beautiful baby girl.
